Your presentation builds on your project and gives you the chance to expand on your ideas, show extra evidence, and highlight outcomes without worrying about word counts. You don’t have to use the provided template—you could use a format like Canva—just make sure you cover the key points below. Use the guidance to plan your slides carefully so you can present everything clearly within the 15 minutes on assessment day.
The presentation is an extension of the project. There will be crossover from the project, but this is a chance to enhance what you have written in your project without word-count constraints and present further evidence or outcomes. Your presentation should not be a duplicate of your project report. Use it to focus on key points, summarise important information and highlight your main outcomes.
However, all presentations must include:
- An overview of the project.
- The project scope (including key performance indicators).
- Summary of actions undertaken by the apprentice.
- Project outcomes and how these were achieved.
On the assessment day, you will have 15 minutes to deliver your presentation. Think about how long you will spend talking through each slide and how many slides you can cover comfortably in that time.
Only the information you actually present on the day can be assessed. If important information is placed at the end of a long presentation and you do not reach it, it cannot be counted as evidence. For this reason, think carefully about the number of slides you include and keep your presentation focused.
You can use the notes section in your presentation software to support you while presenting. During the live session, we will also talk through different ways you can practise your presentation so you feel confident on the day.
